The ifag holds a small collection of architectural drawings from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The collection comprises almost 300 drawings, sketches and work samples in various formats. Most of them presumably came to the institute before 1933 and represent important focal points of historical architectural teaching and practice in Stuttgart.
Among the highlights are coloured sheets on antique buildings made by Carl Friedrich Beisbarth (1808-1878) from Stuttgart in Paris in the 1830s, large-format designs by Gustav Friedrich von Hetsch (1788-1764) and the building application for the Stuttgart Crown Prince's Palace, submitted by court chamber architect Ludwig Friedrich Gaab (1800-1869). The collection also includes sheets in the hand of the institute's founder Ernst Fiechter (1875-1948).
